RISING FAWN GA: Virginia Elouise Sims, age 73, passed away January 19, 2016. She had lived with and been lovingly cared for by her granddaughter, Racheal Duncan, for the past four years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister that loved going to church and singing praises to the Lord. She was a member of Millwee Hollow Church of God.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester Woodrow and Bertha Phillips, brothers Glenn Phillips, Burnice Phillips, J.I. Phillips; sisters Clara Mae Weldon, Marie Gentry, and Wilma Ramsey.
Survivors include her daughters, Lwanda (Billy) Moore, Rita (Danny) Duncan both of Trenton, GA; son Randy (Bridget) Raines, Richland, VA.; sisters Zora Barker, Essie Zeller, Edna Mae Phillips, Joyce Morrison; brothers Obie Phillips, Arie Phillips, and Darrell Phillips; nine grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and church family.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM EST Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Byrd’s Chapel Church of God with Brother Ronnie Goins officiating. Burial will follow in Payne’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday 1:00 ~ 8:00 PM; Thursday 9:00 AM ~ 3:00 PM EST at Byrd’s Chapel Church of God. Please share your thoughts and memories at
