Virginia Durham, 88, of Trenton, GA, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2020.
Virginia was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Trenton, GA and taught the ladies Bible class for over thirty years. She retired from the Dade County school system after working forty plus years.
Virginia loved to cook for her family and was also an avid reader who loved to discuss her current read. She was always present with her love, guidance and support for both her family and friends. Virginia treated everyone with kindness, love and respect, and was always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.
She will always be remembered as a faithful Christian, an outstanding wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Clarence Durham; parents Chester W. and Ella Maude Sivley; and five siblings.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Brenda (Charles) Poe of Chattanooga, TN and Carolyn (Gary) Ellis Graham of Dalton, GA; three granddaughters, Sheri Greene of Atlanta, GA, Stephanie (Jason) Reynolds of Dalton, GA and Emily (Jeff) Collier, Chattanooga, Tennessee; sister, Dene (Johnny) Tittle of Chattanooga, TN; brother, Chester “Sonny” (Pat) Sivley of Chattanooga, TN; and 7 adoring great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank her faithful caregivers Carol, Helen, Bria and Chris as well as the entire staff at Rosewood Assisted Living for their kindness, love and care.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at 1:00 EST at
Sulphur Springs Cemetery with Brother Billy Wallace officiating.
