Velma Mae Smith

BRYANT, AL: Velma Mae Smith, age 86, passed away July 14, 2012. She retired from 3M Company with 35 years of service, she enjoyed her children, grandchildren, gospel music, camping, and she was a member of the Avans Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Smith, parents Jack and Francis West, sons Carl Smith and Gregory Kent Smith. Survivors include her daughter and husband Charlotte and Buddy Hill, Bryant, AL, sister Hazel Stone, Trenton, daughter in law Joretta Smith, Bryant, 4 grandchildren, Lisa Durham, Cheryl Smedley, Mike Smith, Lacy Santos, great grandchildren, Alaina Durham, Sarah Smedley, Christopher Smith, Matthew Smith, Christopher Santos, Carson Santos and Kylie Santos. nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM EST Tuesday in the Bryant Chapel with Pastor David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Gib-Dock Cemetery.
