VAN WALL
RISING FAWN, GA: Van Hardin Wall, age 92, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2013. He loved hunting, fishing, and gardening, and was especially proud of the tomatoes and hot peppers he could grow. He proudly served his country in WWII in Africa and Italy for 32 months. If all men possessed his qualities of love, happiness, and friendship, the world would be a better place. He was a member of Cloverdale Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Forester Wall; parents William Dennis and Nora Jane Bodenhamer Wall; two brothers Virgil and Victor; eight sisters, Billie, Vivian, Hazel, Carrie, Edna, Robbie, UIle, and Brownie.
He is survived by his daughter Jeanie Wall Welch, Rising Fawn, GA; sister Dorothy Miller, Santa Rosa Beach, FL.; brother Hillard Wall, Lookout Mountain; two granddaughters Charly Nicole Edwards and Cassie Welch; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM EDT Sunday, November 10, 2013 in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Hixon and Bro. Steve Baugh officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery with full military honors.. Pallbearers will be Steve Baugh, Ronnie Hawkins, Ken Goode, Ivan Wallin, Gary Friske, Roy Blevins. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Hicks, Johnny Lee, Roger Selzter, Darryl Pardue, and Fossie Woods.
Visitation will be held Saturday 1:00PM ~ 8:00PM, Sunday 12:00PM ~ 3:00PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cloverdale Baptist Church or Dade County Sheriff’s “ Hope for the Holidays” to benefit the children of our county.
