Tonjya Louise Pray, 55, passed away peacefully at her home in Bryant, AL on May 22, 2024 while surrounded by her loving family.
A Memorial Service to honor Tonjya will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 2:00 PM ET in the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the service hour.
Tonjya was born on May 5, 1969 to the late Dallas May and Rose Butler May. Throughout her life, Tonjya was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Her passion was truly with children as she was an educator and teacher with e-Kids Learning Center for many years. In her spare time, Tonjya enjoyed traveling with her family and spending as much time with her grandchildren as she could. She will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Doug (Makaylia) Pray and Will (Abby) Pray; brother, Jody May; sister, Robin Williams; her adoring grandchildren, Taylen, Aiden, Hallie, and Emma Pray; numerous extended family and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents, Tonjya was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Peter Pray.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Alabama for their compassionate care of Tonjya during her last days and to e-Kids Learning Center for bringing her immense joy and fulfillment in life.
