Shelby Jean Buffington

Shelby Jean Buffington, of Trenton, GA, passed away at the age of 85 on June 21, 2023, after a brief illness. She was born on October 26, 1937 to the late Homer Lee "Shorty" and Loretta Powell.

Shelby was an incredibly hard-working and self-sufficient woman. One of her greatest passions in life was caring for others, especially her family. She was also known for her meticulous housekeeping skills, always keeping everything spotless and organized.

Shelby is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Barry & Charlotte, Ricky & Karen, and Jeff & Carolyn Buffington - as well as her grandchildren, Miranda & Luke Kennamer, Blake & Tiffanie Buffington, Robby & Alana Buffington, Heather & Adam Tuxbury along with seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Clyde Jennings Buffington; and sister, Laverne Garrett.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home at 12:00pm with Brother Tommy Crider officiating. Burial will follow at Deer Head Cove cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.

Ricky Buffington, Jeff Buffington, Barry Buffington, Blake Buffington, Robby Buffington and Adam Tuxbury will serve as pallbearers.
