Sheila Wood

Sheila Ruth Wood, age 66, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.

A Funeral Service honoring Sheila's life will take place on Monday, April 1, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Following the service, Sheila will be laid to rest at Hawkins Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM and Monday from 11:00 AM until the service starts at 1:00 PM.

Born on June 27, 1957, Sheila was the daughter of Betty Gray Abbott and the late Lester Waymon Abbott. Her talents in knitting, crocheting, and various crafts illustrated her creativity and attention to detail. Sheila's enthusiasm for Christmas decorations and lights not only brought joy to herself but also to all those around her. However, it was her unwavering love for her family that truly defined her essence.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Wood; mother, Betty Abbott; son, Kevin (Brandy) Abbott; grandson, Daniel Joseph "D.J." Abbott; siblings, Lester (Kim) Abbott, Melvin (Tammy) Abbott, Randy Abbott, and Cindy (Darryl) Gravitt; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Lester Waymon Abbot; sister, Karen Abbott; and brother, Timothy Abbott.
