Sandy Hixon

Sandra Jean Hixon, 70, lovingly known as Sandy to her loved ones, passed away at home in Rossville, Georgia on April 30th, 2023. Born on November 30th, 1952, to the late Clifford and Stella Kirkland, she was also predeceased by her beloved husband, Gary Hixon; her sisters, Gail Kelley, Ellie Geach, and Betty Snyder; and her grandson, Jake Hixon.

Sandy spent several years working in communications for the Chattanooga Times and made many lasting friendships during this time. However, it was with her family that she found true happiness. She cherished every moment spent with them, especially with her grandchildren whom she adored.

Sandy is survived by her sons, Scott (Stephanie) Hixon and Chad Hixon; four grandchildren: Kate Hixon, Betsy Hixon, Cory Hixon, and Eric Hixon; in-laws, as well as nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation services for Sandy on Tuesday, May 2nd from 4-8 PM and Wednesday, May 3rd from 10 AM-12:30 PM at Moore Funeral Home - Trenton located at 11910 S. Main Street in Trenton, GA. A funeral service will follow on Wednesday, May 3rd at Moore Funeral Home - Trenton at 12:30. Interment will take place at Chattanooga National Cemetery located at 1200 Bailey Ave in Chattanooga, TN.

Sandy's life was filled with love and laughter which will remain fond memories for those who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all those who were fortunate enough to call her friend or family member.
