Samuel Allen Strickland

Samuel Allen Strickland, 73, of Anniston Alabama, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024. Allen, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Chattanooga, TN to Perry David Strickland Sr. and Anne Bishop Strickland. At a young age, Allen's family moved to Trenton, GA and later settled in Rossville, GA following his mother's passing.

In 1968, Allen joined the Marines where he proudly served two enlistments, with most of his service time spent in Japan. While in the Marine Corps, he attained the rank of Corporal and received multiple commendations. 

After completing his military service, Allen returned to Chattanooga where he was employed as an industrial heating and air conditioning technician, and later as a truck driver.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents Perry David Strickland Sr. and Anne Bishop Strickland, as well as his nephew Eric Strickland. He is survived by his sisters Glenda Cargile (Birchwood, TN) and Debra Jones (Ringgold, GA); brothers David Strickland (Chickamauga, GA) and Simon Strickland (Rock Spring, GA); stepdaughter Wendy Craft, along with several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to honor Allen's life will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home.  Following the service, Allen will be buried at Baptist Cemetery in Trenton.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff of the Oncology Unit at Regional Medical Center in Anniston, AL for the outstanding, compassionate care provided to Allen during his time in the hospital.
