Roy Lee Whited, a beloved member of the New Salem community, peacefully passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024, at his home on Lookout Mountain in Rising Fawn, GA. He was 82 years old.
A graveside honoring the life of Roy Lee will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Hawkins Cemetery in New Salem. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home on Saturday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
Roy Lee was born on October 2, 1941, to the late James Edgar and Lillian Wallen Whited. Known as a jack of all trades, he had a deep love for storytelling and socializing with others. He also had a passion for the outdoors and deer hunting. Roy Lee was a lifelong resident of Dade County.
He is survived by his sons, James (Kelly) Whited and Jimmy Ray Whited; along with his brother, James Edgar Whited Jr.
In addition to his parents, Roy Lee was preceded in death by his significant other, Donna Perry, and his siblings Lewis Whited, Billy Whited, Georgia May Hester, Mildred Wells, and J.R. Whited.
The family expresses their gratitude to Elaine Pardue for the compassionate care she provided to Roy Lee during his final days.
Roy Lee will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
