RONALD “CUBIE” STEELE
RISING FAWN, GA: Ronald “Cubie” Steele, age 81 passed away Friday, June 5, 2015. He was a graduate of Dade County High School Class of 1953 , played professional baseball with St. Louis Cardinals Minor league; he was a United States Army Veteran and the former Sheriff of Dade County. His hobbies included woodworking and photography. He was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Dalpha Steele; son, Rickey Steele; sister, Nancy Sisk; brothers, David and Carl Steele.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Barbara Steele; daughter, Jessica (Clayton) Coots, Fort Payne, AL; sons, Ronnie (Paulette) Steele, Ringgold, GA, Tony (Carol) Steele, Rossville, GA and Mike Steele, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA;six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; sisters, Naomi McMahan, Trenton, GA and Jo Ann Woodyard, Rising Fawn, GA; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM EDT Sunday, June 7, 2015 in the Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother David Brown and Reverend Tommy Crider officiating. Burial will be held in Hannah Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday 2:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM
Sunday 11:00 AM ~ 2:00 PM
