Robert Eugene True peacefully passed away on December 21, 2024, at his home in Bryant, AL, surrounded by loved ones. He lived a remarkable 92 years.
A Celebration of Robert's Life will take place at a later date.
Robert dedicated 39 years of his professional life to Bellsouth in the Chattanooga, Tennessee, area. Throughout his career, he demonstrated leadership to the highest of dedication and standards.
A proud veteran, Robert served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was stationed at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. His passion for life extended beyond his career and military service; he was an avid tennis player, enjoying weekly matches at the Manker Patten Tennis Club in Chattanooga until his late 80s. Robert loved the great outdoors, frequently hiking across the nation, particularly in the mountains. He was also known for his gardening skills and adventurous spirit as a traveler.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, a sister, and his stepson, Ray Daniels. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Joyce True, with whom he shared nearly 39 years of marriage; his children, Evan and Beth True; stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Teddy Holland and Veronica and Rickey Casey; as well as a large extended family that brought him immense joy.
Robert's legacy will live on through those who knew and loved him, celebrating the fullness of life he embodied.
