Robert Ray Lynchard, age 80, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 13, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Desieree Lynchard and his wife Wendy Lynchard.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dezzie Vernell Lynchard, their daughter Susan Self and husband Tim, step-daughters Carla Steward and husband Stan, Kelly Denzio and husband Scott, and two sisters Judy Sanders and Sandra Wiliford and husband Don. Robert's greatest source of joy was his 6 grandchildren Robert Pechin, Jessica Godkin, Laura Godkin, London Denzio, Ketcher Stewart and Fallon Stewart.
Robert was born on November 23, 1940, in Martin, TN and was raised in Dresden,TN. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy and retired after 21 years of dedicated service in the field of air traffic control and served aboard the USS Lexington and USS Midway. After retirement he continued in the field of aviation by performing military technical training as well as a role in military contract finance in Orlando, FL. Robert enjoyed being anywhere close to water, loved to dance and had a wonderful singing voice.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Thrive at Brow Wood for their tender care and unfailing support to his wife and family during this difficult time. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
