Richard Columbus McClure, 79, of Rossville, GA went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 9, 2023.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, GA with Pastor Ben Young officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Bryant, AL.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM and on Friday from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour.
Richard was born July 9, 1943 to the late Charles and Emma Tucker McClure. Known as “King Pin”, he was an avid bowler and member of the Chattanooga Area Bowlers Association. Richard loved sports and his favorite teams were the Detroit Tigers, Atlanta Braves and Alabama Crimson Tide. He was a proud and loving grandfather who constantly bragged about each of his many grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Richard McClure; and sister, Patricia Adkins.
Left to cherish his memory are the mother of his children, Lucy McClure; daughters, Barbara Faulkenberry and Donna Wooten; grandchildren, Jennifer Wooten, Chad Wooten, Carrie West, Brad Turner, Tammy Barnes, Brent Faulkenberry, Tiffany Butler, Timothy Roy McClure, Tori McClure and Damion Lambert; 23 great-grandchildren and 41 great great-grandchildren; niece and nephew, Jill Adkins Mavity and Phillip Adkins.
