Rayburn Leonard West, age 76 of Bryant, AL, passed away at home on May 25, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, dear brother, and a kind friend to all who had the honor of knowing him.
Rayburn was born February 9, 1945 to the late Noah J. and Edith West in Bryant, AL. He served in the Army National Guard and enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling. He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and a retired deacon. He enjoyed spending time with his family and spoiling his grandbabies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah J. West and Edith West; brothers, Joseph and J.D. West; and sister, Joyce Roddy.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 55 years, Kathy West; daughter, Valorie (Sammy) West Lance; son, Kerry (Tanya) West; brothers, Ralph (Gail) West and Kenneth (Denica) West; sister in-laws, Shirley West and Pat West; grandchildren, Donovan (Hannah) Riddle, Kaitlyn (Luke) Chastain, Jordan (Chelsea Chamberlain fiancé) West and Kara (Hunter) McNabb; great-grandchildren, Lexus Riddle, Adalynn Riddle and Brenleigh Chastain; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 EST on Friday, May 28, 2021 in the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Jonathan Witt officiating. He will be laid to rest at Poplar Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 1:00 to 8:00 EST and on Friday from 10:00 until the service hour.
The family would like to thank everyone for who brought food, flowers, visited, made phone calls and most of all the prayers.
