Patsy Maude West

Patsy Maude "Pat" West, age 85, of Bryant, AL passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on October 30, 1937 to the late Loman and Opal Fairbanks Woods. Pat's faith was an important part of her life, and she found solace as a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

Pat had a passion for cooking and was particularly known for her delicious fried apple pies. She also enjoyed spending time in her garden, nurturing plants and flowers. However, above all else, Pat's family was her greatest joy and source of fulfillment.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Karen (Anthony) Swafford, Connie (Dennis) Welden, Ronnie (Jenne') West, and Randy (Kelly) West; sisters Frankie (Richard) Hutton and Jackie (Joe) Whitley; grandchildren Jeremy Bell, Noah (Chancie) West, Briley West, Jennifer (Josh) Rimas, Andrew (Kailyn) Leon, Mitch (Becky) Swafford; and great-grandchildren River, Lake, Greenlee, Caroline, Dakota, and Mason. Pat is also survived by in-laws Ralph (Gail) West, Kenny (Denica) West, Kathy West, and Shirley West; special friend Joey Howard; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family members; and a wide circle of friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband JD West. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Gordon Woods, Forest Woods, and Billy Woods; as well as in-laws Joe West, Rayburn West, Joyce West Roddy, and Bryan Roddy.

Funeral services to honor Pat's life will be held at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at 3:00 PM ET. The service will be officiated by Brother Steve Townson and Brother Donny Johnston. After the ceremony, she will rest at Poplar Springs Cemetery in Trenton, GA.

A visitation will be held at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home on Monday, July 31, 2023 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM ET and on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the service hour.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to caregivers Sheila Smith, Robin Jenkins, Brenda Hariston, and Felicia Cartwright for providing compassionate care during Patsy's final days. They would also like to extend their thanks to the staff at Hospice of North Alabama for their support.
