Otis Alvin Long

Otis Alvin Long, age 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 15, 2023, at his home in Trenton, GA.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Alvin will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at 2:00 PM ET in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Eddie Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow at Baptist Cemetery in Trenton, GA.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 4:00–8:00 PM ET and on Sunday from 12:00 PM ET until the start of the service.

Alvin was born to the late Paul and Virgie Gass Long on January 25, 1937. He was a mechanic by trade and worked many years at the Dade County Transfer Station. Alvin enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's various sporting events. He was also an avid Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan. He will be missed dearly by those closest to him.

Alvin is survived by his daughters, Kendra (Jason) Sharp, Kecia Guffey and Matthew Guffey; his brother, David Long; and grandchildren, Grayson (Katelyn Connar) Sharp, Garrett (Josie) Sharp, Ashton (Blake) Saylors, and Abby Guffey.

In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Long; brothers, Otto and Allen Long; and sister, Pauline Sanders.
