Opie Tatum

Rickey Lane “Opie” Tatum, age 60, of Trenton, GA passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, November 20, 2023.

A funeral service to honor Opie’s life will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Brother Mike Howell and Wayland Stewart will officiate the service. Opie will be laid to rest at Trenton Baptist Cemetery.

Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 PM until the service hour.

Opie was born on September 14, 1963 to the late Bud and Sue Tatum. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to serving and protecting others as a devoted police officer for many years with the City of Trenton. His quick wit, contagious sense of humor, and his love for the Lord brought joy to everyone he encountered.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Michelle Tatum; daughters, Priscilla (Charlie) Leonard,  Ireland Tatum, and Molly Tatum; sons, Tim (Melissa) Tatum, Israel Tatum, Angus Tatum, and Judah Tatum; sister, Kim Tatum; five grandchildren, Carter, Nolan and Pierce Tatum, and Libby and Jamey Leonard; and his adopted brother and sister, Mike and Becca Coleman.
