Mr. Morris Powell

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, GA. Lonnie Morris Powell, age 78, went to be with the Lord and Savior November 29, 2021. A life long resident of Lookout Mountain, Morris enjoyed farming and collecting antique tractors. A man of his word and commitment, he proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and retired from Alstom Power after fifty years of service.

He is preceded in death by his son, Richard “Tweed” Powell and parents Richard and Jewell Powell.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of fifty-one years, Marie H. Powell; son and daughter-in-law Eric and Heather Powell; grandchildren Ethan and Mason Powell, Chickamauga; sisters Edna (Tom) Elliott, Lookout Mountain and Elsie (David) Allen, Chattanooga; two nieces and three nephews, and a host of friends.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 3:00 PM ET at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Brother Michael Dunwoody officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday 11:00 AM ~ 2:00 PM ET at the funeral home.
