Michael Wayne Holland, age 74, of Flat Rock, AL went home to be with the Lord on May 30, 2024.
A funeral service to honor Wayne's life will take place on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 1:00 PM EST in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Pastor Roy Gentry and Pastor Roy Gamble will officiate the service. He will be laid to rest at Smith Cemetery in Flat Rock, AL.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 5 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the service hour.
Born on April 21, 1950, Wayne was a man of many talents and interests. He found joy in playing musical instruments such as the guitar and trumpet and singing gospel hymns. His hobbies included riding motorcycles, working on antique cars, and cooking outdoors. Above all else, Wayne cherished spending time with his family. He served his country as a United States Marine Corps veteran.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Deborah Holland; Rhonda Dotson-mother of his children; son, Billy (Nikole) Holland; daughter, Jennifer (Roy) Gentry; brother, David (Lois) Holland; sisters, Tina (Bill) Earp, Rhonda Crabtree, and Sheila (Richard) Shipley; grandchildren, Victoria and Jaxon Johnson, Graham, August, and Aurora Holland; and numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Billie Ellis Holland; daughters, Vickie and April Michelle Holland; and his siblings, Steve Holland and Deborah Boss.
Michael Wayne Holland will be remembered for his love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his many talents, passions, love for family, and honorable service to his country. He is now more alive than he ever has been. We will see him again on that glorious day when the TRUMPET shall sound!
