Margaret Maxine Thomas, 85, of Trenton, GA passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
Maxine was born in Marshall County, Alabama on May 23, 1937 to the late Ben and Bessie Bowman. She grew up in Bryant, Alabama and married the love of her life, Wendell Thomas on July 16, 1955. They moved to Trenton, Georgia in 1965. Maxine was an expert homemaker, seamstress and enjoyed being a room mother to her daughter’s class for many years. She attended Ider Holiness Church and loved her church family very much.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Earline and J.L. Barron, and brother-in-law, Charles Bone.
Maxine is survived by her husband of 67 Years, Wendell Thomas; daughter and son-in-law, Karen Jeanine and Dennis Thomas; her beloved Grand-Dog Cooper; sister, Maezell Bone; loving niece and caregiver, Kay Blevins and her husband Rodney; as well as a large extended family of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM on Friday, March 3, 2023 in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Reverend Brent Michaels and Reverend Wayne Guffey presiding over the service. Burial will follow in the Bryant Holiness Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-8PM and Friday from 11AM until the funeral hour at Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, GA.
The family would like to extend special thanks to caregivers Tonya Pearson and Susan Clark as well as the caring staff of Amedisys Hospice for their service during her brief illness.
