CHATTANOOGA TN: Maurice Talmadge Light, age 77, departed this Life for his heavenly home, Saturday, June 8, 2013 after a long courageous Battle with cancer. He was employed by ET & WNC Truck line, Beeline and Goggin Truck Lines and Walmart. He loved the game of golf.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Lester and Elizabeth Short Light; brothers, Junior and Frank Light; sisters, Luverne Light and Rexine Rowell.
He was well loved and survived by his wife of 58 years, Nell Light; daughters, Kathryn (Kevin) Young and Janet (Mike) Hart; grandsons, Jonathan (Sherri) Hart, Kristopher (Jordan) Young and granddaughter, Amy (Joey) Giamportone; great grandsons, Nathan and Seth Hart and Brantley Giamportone; four brothers, W.A. Light, Devell Light, Sonny Light and Ted Light; three sisters, Mary Jo Chandler, Toby Davidson and Judy Lingerfelt and many loved ones.
Funeral services will be held 1:00PM EST Tuesday, June 11, 2013 in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Reverend Randy Tinker officiating. Interment will be Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 12:30 at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday 4PM ~ 9PM and Tuesday 11AM ~ 1PM. Special thanks to Mark Mollenkoff of Hospice of Chattanooga and to the Hospice Team.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Hospice of Chattanooga or American Cancer Society.
