MARY ROSE MOORE
Mary Rose Moore, 88, of New Salem, GA passed away peacefully at home on October 30, 2022, surrounded by those who loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm et on Friday, November 4, 2022 at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Jim Blaylock officiating. She will be laid to rest at Hawkins Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm and on Friday from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.
Mary Rose was a loving wife, mother, granny and grandma. She was a resident of the New Salem community and a member of New Salem Methodist Church. She spent her life serving others. As a young wife, she was a Sunday School teacher and Girl Scout leader. Mary Rose worked as a caregiver and was always willing to help others. She was a member of the Trenton-Dade Optimist Club having served at one time as president and later as Lt. Governor of her zone of the Georgia State Optimist. She loved animals, gardening, travel and visiting with her neighbors. Above all, she loved God her Savior and her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rollie C. Moore; parents, Thomas and Lula Lowery Cook; daughter, Ola Gayle Moore; and siblings, Martha Eula Haggy, Lula Joyce Sweis, Nola Elizabeth McHone, Merble Quincetta Bookout, Gena Robin Smith, and James Carson Cook.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Walter (Angie) Moore and Claudia (Charlie) Pridgen; grandchildren, Frank (Mayet) Pridgen, Tiffany (Ross) Kirby, April (Michael) Crumley, and Colton Moore; great-grandchildren, Connor Kirby, Riley Kirby and Keiyo Pridgen; siblings, Thomas Cook Jr. and Jewell (George) Frasier; and sister in-laws, Althea Moore and Joann “Tootsie” Roach.
