MARTHA VAUGHN
BRYANT, AL: Martha Kathryn Vaughn, age 84, passed away May 13, 2014. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was a member of Glendale Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Lee Vaughn; father Herschel Poe, mother Mary Ellen Poe, aunt Bertha Rorex; step-mother Willie Poe; son Thomas Vaughn; sister Betty Jo Cooper; brothers Bill Poe, Jimmy Carl Poe, Donnie Poe, Tommy Rorex, and Elmore Rorex.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy (Ronnie) Norris, Bryant, AL; sisters Polly Estep (Denny) of Fuquay Varina, N.C., Bobbie Lacour of Aurora, IL; Joan Hagan (J.B.) Huntsville, AL; brothers David Poe (Brenda) Stevenson, AL; Tommy Poe (Ruby) New Hope, TN; three grandchildren Brian Williams, Brent Norris, Lauren Johnson (Justin); two great-grandchildren Camren Williams, Kieara Johnson; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM EDT Friday, May 16, 2014 at Glendale Church of Christ with Minister Daryl Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in the Glendale Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday 3:00 PM EDT ~ 9:00 PM at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at Glendale Church of Christ on Friday from 12:00 PM till 2:00 PM . The family would like to thank her special angels from Alacare Hospice and caregivers Haley Anderson, Linda Singleton and Lauren Johnson.
