Mrs. Marie Sutton

GRIFFIN, GA: Alice Marie Sutton was born in Johnson City TN. She was the first baby born in Washington County, TN in 1940. She was one of twelve children and the last one to pass away. In 1976, she married William G “Bill” Sutton and relocated to Trenton GA. Bill and Marie Sutton were members of Calvary Baptist Church until November 2013 when they relocated to Williamson GA. They are now members of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Zebulon, GA. She passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at her home in Williamson, GA due to natural causes.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Eliza Sparks; daughter, Janice Knight, and son-in-law, William Allen Knight.

She is survived by her husband William “Bill” G Sutton; son, Tommy (Julie) Ford; children, Debbie (Steve) Eldridge, Denny (Stephanie) Sutton, Darla (Gary) Watkins; grandchildren, Tyler Ford, Katie Ford, Shayna Tudors, Zackary Pike, Hannah Pike, William Allen Knight Jr, Timothy Knight, Rachel Knight-Vennest, Amber Gross, Heath Higdon, Heather Sutton, Dusty Cloud; great-grandchildren, Liam Ford, Alysa Rose, Joshua Rose, Kailey Vennest, Victoria Knight, Sawyer Cloud, Sophie Cloud; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Due to the current health regulations, the family will have a private service on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 in the Trenton, GA Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother David Tate officiating. Burial to follow at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.
