Margarette Reeves

Margarette Lea Reeves, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2024 at her home in the Lookout Valley community of Chattanooga, TN.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Margarette's life will be held on Wednesday, November 27th at 1:00 PM ET in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM ET until the start of the service. Following the service, Margarette will be laid to rest at Deer Head Cove Cemetery.

Margarette was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, deeply cherished by her family. She was known for her wonderful cooking and dedicated many years to her career as a waitress, with her last position being at the Cabbage Bowl in Ider, AL. A strong and independent woman, Margarette was a longtime member of the Church of God.

She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Underwood, Frances Westbrooks, and Jane Reeves; sons, Manuel Lee and Wayne Reeves; her brother, Sam Cason; as well as thirty-three grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members who will miss her dearly.

Margarette was preceded in death by her parents, Dollis “Dall” and Pauline Patrick Cason; her husband, Manuel Reeves; her sons, William Harold and Jerry Allin Reeves; her sisters, Betty Conner, Madeline Cliff, Carolyn Craig, Opal Daniels, and Faye Page; and her brothers, John, Joe, and Robert Cason.

Margarette’s legacy of love and strength will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
