Lucille Graham

April 15, 1924 — February 17, 2025

Lucille Kathleen Graham, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully departed this life at her home in Bryant, Alabama, on February 17, 2025. She reached the extraordinary milestone of 100 years, leaving behind a wealth of love and memories that will resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.

A funeral service to honor the life and legacy of Lucille will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 12:00 PM ET at the Floral Crest Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Brother Steve Wade officiating. After the service, she will be laid to rest at Floral Crest Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM ET and on Friday at Floral Crest Seventh-Day Adventist Church from 11:30 AM ET until the funeral hour.

Born on April 15, 1924, in the loving embrace of Raynold and Lula Musser Peterson in the Bryant community on Sand Mountain, Lucille dedicated her life to nurturing her family and serving her community. Together with her beloved husband, Alvan, she raised her children in the warmth of a home filled with love. Lucille devoted 25 years to teaching in the Catoosa County School System, her passion for education illuminating the lives of countless students until her retirement.

Lucille's faith was the cornerstone of her life. As an active member of the Floral Crest Seventh-Day Adventist Church, she exemplified a life of service to her family, church, and community. Known for her gentle spirit, it was the simple joys of life that brought her true happiness — whether it was tending to her garden, preserving the fruits of her labor, or watching the beautiful birds that frequented her yard.

She is survived by her sons, Charran (Jill) Graham, Dr. Leon (Alice) Graham, and Dr. Ronal (Marie) Graham; her son in-law, John Wear: her sister, Elsie Peterson; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a wide circle of friends from her church and community. Lucille will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Alvan Graham, Sr.; daughter, Florabelle Wear; sisters, Virginia Page, Evelyn Wilson, and Ruth Richards; and her brother, Frank Peterson.

Lucille leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love, service, and dedication, and her memory will be cherished forever.
