Mr. Leon Spurgin
March 9, 1935 — September 11, 2020
HIGDON, AL: Leon Castle Spurgin, age 85, passed away September 11, 2020. He loved his family and was a member of Mountain View Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lettie Spurgin, sisters Pauline Gass, Irene Christopher, and May Butler; brothers Alvin, Roy, and Marvin Spurgin.
Survivors include his daughter Rita (Randy) Evans; sons Marvin (Diane) Spurgin, Bruce (Geraldine) Spurgin, Roger (Rhonda) Spurgin, Jimmy (Tina) Spurgin; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers George Spurgin and Lewis Spurgin; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM EDT Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at the Mountain View Church of God with Brother Brad Bridges officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Church of God Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 13 and Monday, September 14, 2020 from 5:00 PM EDT ~ 8:00 PM EDT at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home; Tuesday 12:00 PM ~ 1:00 PM EDT at the Church.
