Kathryn LaRue Wilson

Kathryn LaRue Wilson, age 88, passed away peacefully at her home in Bryant, AL on Sunday, November 5, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 18, 1935, Kathryn was the beloved daughter of the late Ben and Irma Seagroves Wilson. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister who cherished her family dearly. Kathryn was a devoted Christian and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Her presence will forever be felt in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Kathryn is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Ricky) Hill and Sandra (David) Aiken; her brother, Calvin (Mark Stager) Wilson of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Eddie McCloud and Katelyn Aiken; her step-grandchildren, Jessica Aiken, Wesley Aiken, Zack Sewell, Christian Sewell, Bubba Hill, Rachel Hill, Candice Lawson, and Melissa McCloud; her great-grandchildren, Marley McCloud, Madleigh McCloud, Haleigh Aiken, and Cody Ayers; 12 step-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of friends.

In addition to her parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Glenn Yates, and her brother, R.B. Wilson Jr.

A funeral service to honor Kathryn's life will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 1:00 PM ET in the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Brother Brad Bridges will officiate the service. She will be laid to rest at Oak Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM ET and on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the service at 1:00 PM ET.

The family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Hannah Garcia, Brandy Romans, and the entire staff from Enhabit Hospice for their compassionate care during Kathryn’s final days.  They would also like to thank Erika Hatfield and the staff at Signature Health and Rehab.
