Judy Edgeworth

Naomi Ellagean "Judy" Edgeworth, age 88 of Higdon, AL, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. Her loving family surrounded her in the comfort of her home.

Judy was born December 13, 1934 to the late William and Prudie Anderson Tinker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Judy had a warm and caring personality that endeared her to everyone she met.

Throughout her life, Judy held various jobs including working at Buster Brown, Ingles Bakery, and Moore Funeral Home. She was known for her exceptional cooking skills and enjoyed preparing delicious meals for her family and friends.  Judy was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

Judy is survived by her son Wayne (Zella) Edgeworth; grandson Brian (Shonda) Edgeworth; great-grandchildren Alex (Lori) Edgeworth, Hayleigh (Jake Tidwell) Edgeworth, Brenlynn Edgeworth, and Brooklynn Edgeworth; great-great-grandchildren Riley Edgeworth, Parker Edgeworth, and Oliver Tidwell; as well as a host of friends.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband Gene Edgeworth and son Billy Edgeworth. She was also preceded in death by her brothers William and Wendell Tinker; and sisters Lubrillie Yell, Margie Spurgeon, Fannie Holland, Bessie Young, Annie Saylor, and Nancy Tinker.

A funeral service to honor Judy's life will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 1:00 PM ET in the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Steve Townson officiating. She will be laid to rest at Gib Dock Stephens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 - 8:00 PM ET and on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the service at 1:00 PM ET.

The family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to ABC Hospice for their compassionate care during Judy's final days.
