Mrs. Joyce Mcguire

Thelma Joyce McGuire, 82, of Bryant, AL passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023 in her home.

Funeral services will be held at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 2:00 PM ET with Brother Wayne Winters officiating. Burial will follow in Straightway Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM ET and on Wednesday from 11:00 AM ET until the service hour.

Joyce was born to the late Andy and Ellamae Hicks on March 28, 1940 in Bryant, AL. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, being outside gardening or doing yard work. Joyce also loved to cook and canned the bounty from her garden. She loved her dog, “Berkley” and her cats.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert “Buster” McGuire; son, Rupert Terry McGuire; siblings Melba Cookston, Velma Campbell, and Glen Hicks.

Left to cherish her memory are her grandson, Ryan McGuire; daughter-in-law, Cheryl McGuire; granddaughter, Candice White; great-grandchildren, Hunter McDowelll, Brodie Carter, Daygen Dunn, and Gracelyn Dunn; brothers and sisters, Ricky and Tiny Hicks, David Hicks, Hazel and Robby Robertson, and Ruth White; brother in-law, Robert Cookston; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
