Joyce Bailey

Joyce Louise Bailey, aged 68, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, at her home in the West Brow community of Lookout Mountain, GA, surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service to honor Joyce’s life will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Following the service, Joyce will be laid to rest at Mount Olive Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday from 11:00 AM until the service hour.

Joyce dedicated many years of her life to caregiving, worked in concessions at the Four Fields, and served as a cook and waitress at Waffle House before becoming a full-time homemaker. The greatest joys of her life were her children and grandchildren, and she cherished her nieces and nephews as her own, often saying, “I feel like all you kids are my kids.” Her nurturing spirit touched the hearts of many.

Joyce is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray Bailey, her parents Oliver and Evelyn Brown, and her brothers Ed, Gary, Timothy, Jim Brown, and Jerry Floyd.

She is survived by her son, Steven Bailey, and her daughter, Leatreonnia Baker, along with her cherished grandchildren, Jaxson Bailey and Joselyn Baker. Joyce also leaves behind her sister, Pat (Duck) Sharp, her brother Bob (Gina) Brown, sister-in-laws Sue Davis and Patricia Bailey, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
