LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, GA: Joel Pugh Pilcher, age 77, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020. He was a retired truck driver from Express Freight, Chattanooga, TN. and member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Americus, GA.
Joel loved his grandchildren who affectionately called him “Big Daddy” and always enjoyed being the jokester in the family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Pugh and Carrie Pilcher; sister Evie Seth; brother Alvin Pilcher.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-four years, Geneda Pilcher; daughter Tonya (Todd) Bird; son Joel Stacey (Susan) Pilcher; six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; sister Vi (Steve) Roach, Americus, GA.; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM EST Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Brown’s Gap Cemetery with Brother Jeffrey Wootten officiating.
Family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. at the Trenton Chapel.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimers Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl.17, Chicago, IL 60601.
