Mr. Joe A. Lewis Jr

Joseph “Joe” A. Lewis Jr, age 78, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Joe was born April 25, 1943 in Independence, LA to the late Regina and Joseph A. Lewis Sr. He was a United States Air Force veteran and retired from the oil industry. He was a friend to many and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters and his loving companion Wanda Gillis.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, JoAnn Cousins; son, Jessie Lewis; sisters, Rosie Roberts, Camella Bush and Patricia Wright; brothers, Tony, Paul and Mike Lewis. He also left behind special nieces, Jennifer Surmanek, Jasmine, Zoey and several other nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Joe’s life at Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, GA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 4:00 PM EDT. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. He will be laid to rest in Tickfaw, LA.
