James Oliver “Jim” Tinker, 74, of Trenton, GA passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023 in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM ET on Monday, March 13, 2023 in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Michael Kilgore officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-6 PM ET and Monday from 10AM until the service hour.
Jim was born February 13, 1949 to the late Brady and Anna Dell Waller Tinker. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and later retired from Combustion Engineering / APB and the Georgia Department of Transportation. Jim loved his community and was very civic oriented. He served on the Dade County Board of Equalization, Dade County Elections Board, was a Chamber of Commerce Ambassador and a 4-H Volunteer. Jim was an Elder and member of New Vision Church of God in Trenton, GA. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Left to treasure his memories include his wife, Deborah Tinker; sons, Chad (Cassie) Tinker, Casey (Dylan) Tinker, Roger Brown, Chris (Karen) Brown and Trip (Tracey) Boyd; sisters, Alleen (Gerald) Hilton, Virginia (Willie) Colter, Mindy (Craig) Jordan; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by siblings, Peggy Ann Dotson, Sheila Vaughn, Jackie Tinker and Brady Tinker Jr.
