RISING FAWN, GA: Mrs. Jerry M. Parnell, Rising Fawn, Georgia, age 81, born July 3, 1932, passed away December 24, 2013 at Hutcheson Medical Center, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia from a brief illness.
Jerry was born and raised in East Carroll Parish, Louisiana. She lived and traveled extensively in the United States and abroad with her husband. In her later years, she returned to East Carroll Parish, Louisiana to live with her mother and sister. In 1998 after the passing of her mother, she and her sister settled in Georgia on Lookout Mountain, to be close to family members. She and her sister enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and long walks with their cherished dog, Kobe. Jerry will be remembered by her family and friends for her sweet southern ways and her addictive Pecan Dainties.
She was preceded in death by her husband U.S. Air Force Major James Daniel Parnell, and parents Early and Irene Murray; sister Carolyn Presley.
Survivors include her nephews and wives Terry and Linda, Rising Fawn, Georgia, Louis and Robin, Fort Worth, Texas, Jon, Spring Branch, Texas and Robert and Gail, Elk Grove, California; many cousins and a host of friends. Graveside services will be held 12:00 PM CST Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Cook- Walden Memorial Hills in Pflugerville, TX. Please leave your memories and prayers at
