Jeff Everett, a lifelong resident of Trenton, GA, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at the age of 59.
He was a graduate of Northwest Georgia High School class of 1980. His career was that of a Retail Counselor with Piggly Wiggly Super Markets. He assisted 45 stores with sales, profits, and store operations. He was in this type of industry for 44 years. He also worked part-time with Moore Funeral Home because he enjoyed his time there, and he felt that working there was his calling to help people.
Jeff was a loving and devoted husband and father, and he was the most generous and welcoming person you could ever meet. For decades, being the father and household of all boys, he would often say “I wonder how many boys have eaten and taken a shower at our house. Some of them I would not even know.” Then, he would laugh.
Jeff enjoyed every moment with his children and grand dogs, traveling, going to Starbucks after a huge meal, and guiding young males into becoming good men.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Martha Ann Everett.
Jeff is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 31 years, Kathy Everett, sons, Caleb (Emily) Everett and Ethan Everett; brothers, Steve Everett and Scott (Kelly) Everett; nieces and nephews, Makain Everett, Makinley Everett, Orey Yates, Alex Barton, Madeline Blaylock, Jordan West and Kara McNabb; many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens with Brother Billy Wallace officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 25, 2021, from 5:00PM – 8:00PM and on Saturday from 11:00AM – 1:30PM at Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, GA.
Jeff’s love and passion was with Caleb and Ethan and all children. His conviction was to help anyone in need, especially children. He was a strong believer in St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and he constantly asked Kathy to “make sure that we gave a donation.” He would do without to make sure money would go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, Jeff’s family asks that you donate to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Jeff.
