Jason Dale Finlayson, 47, of Flat Rock, AL passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 surrounded by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM ET on Saturday, September 24, 2022 in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Bobby House, Jason Wooten and Aaron Wooten officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Finlayson Family Cemetery, Valley Head, AL (Rising Fawn Holiness Church).
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 23, 2022 from 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour.
Jason was born July 7, 1975 on Lookout Mountain to the late Bryant and Charlotte Finlayson. He received the Holy Ghost in August 1990 at Briar Fork Holiness Church and married his sweetheart, Marquita, November 25, 1994. Jason was a wonderful, attentive friend to all that he met. He feared and walked with God with great joy. Jason loved goofing off with his kids, grandkids and whoever else was around. He was a “Dad” to a lot of children and a wonderful example of a child of God. He owned and operated Finlayson Construction.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Sanford.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Marquita Finlayson; children, Ethan (Taylor) Finlayson and Kacie (Phillip) Kendrick; grandchildren, Cohen Kendrick, Athena Finlayson, Atlas Finlayson and Olivia Kendrick; siblings, Micah (Glenn) Kerby, Mark (Debbie) Finlayson, Kenny Finlayson, Jari (Ricky) Hughes, Scott (Amy) Finlayson, Rod (Fiona) Finlayson, Carma (Wayne) Johnson; brother in-law, Bill (Mary) Sanford; several nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
