Janie Pryor

Janie Dorothy Pryor, age 78, of Trenton, GA, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024, surrounded by her family.

A Funeral Service honoring Janie's life will take place on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 12:00 PM at New Vision Church of God in Trenton, GA with Brother Michael Kilgore officiating. Following the service, Janie will be laid to rest at New Home Cemetery in Henagar, AL. Buster Pryor, Kenny Pryor, Hank Rumley, Tyler Pryor, Logan Pryor, and Mark Godwin will serve as pallbearers.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home and also at the church on Friday from 11:00 AM until the service starts at noon.

Janie was born on February 17, 1946 in Salem, FL to the late J.D. and Jessie Drigger Jackson. In 1963, she married her beloved late husband James Pryor, and together they raised four children. She will always be cherished as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who held a deep love for her family. Her Christian faith was evident to all who knew her, and she was a cherished member of the New Vision Church of God.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Gass, Lisa (Mark) Godwin, Buster (Kellee) Pryor, and Kenny (Kandace) Pryor; grandchildren, Hank Rumley, Devonna (Kevin) Smartt, Tyler (Crystal) Pryor, Logan Pryor, Bailey Pryor, Jaiden Black, Skyleigh Black, Gunner Pryor, Eric Pryor, Kinsley Pryor, Braylon Sullivan, Brynna Sullivan-Pryor, and Ashley (Nick) Walker; great-grandchildren Cole and Hunter Smartt; sisters, Doris Morgan and Maedena Collins; several extended family members and a host of friends.

In addition to her husband, James, and parents, Janie was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Ethel Moore, James Jackson, Ander Jackson, Lester Jackson, Jay Jackson, Gwen Pritchard, Joyce Ann Clemons; and son-in-law, Dewayne Gass.
