James William “J.W.” Blevins, age 86, of Bryant, AL, passed away on July 3, 2021. He was born in Long Island, AL on September 19, 1934 to the late Oscar and Myrtle Blevins. J.W. was a man of few words but his family and friends knew they were well loved. He retired from Dixie Yarns in Chattanooga, TN and was a member of Sequatchie Holiness Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Kenneth Blevins.
James is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jodie Blevins; sons, Rodney (Kay) Blevins, Greg (Diana) Blevins, and Chris (Terri) Blevins; sisters, Lucille Chapman, Kathryn Layne, Mildred Ferrez, Maretta Frames, and Shirley Ledbetter; brothers, Eddie Blevins and Danny Blevins; grandchildren, Lisa (Matt McDonald) Williams, Cassie (Chad) Howard, Brandy (David Hyman) Shrader, and Autumn (Curtis) Enoch; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Graveside services will be held at Oak Lawn Memorial Park in Bryant, AL on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 2:00 PM EDT with Brother Rodney Stephens and Brother Brett Stephens officiating.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM EDT at the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home.
