Mrs. Ila Mae Garrett

BRYANT, AL. Ila Mae Garrett, age 89, passed away November 3, 2021, surrounded by family. She was a charter member of Straightway Baptist Church in Bryant, AL and owner of Ila’s Shoes for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Austin “Cowboy” Garrett, Jr., son Carl “Eddy” Garrett; grandchild Meagan Morris; great-grandchild Rachel Whited; parents Thomas Gray and Emma Lacy Gray; brothers Leroy Gray and Marvin “Shorty” Gray.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters Linda (Ernest) Whited, Clarissa (Danny) Fox; son Austin L. (Pam) Garrett; grandchildren Sherry (Brian) Blevins, Darrick (Chris) Whited, Chad (Cassie) Garrett, Haley Garrett & Chris Masterson, Tyler (Katie) Fox, Maddie Garrett; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Evelyn McKay and Peggy Berry; two very special caregivers Trish Brophy and Ellene Morgan; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 2:00 EDT in the Bryant Chapel with Brother Chad Garrett and Brother Wayne Winters officiating. She will be laid to rest in Straightway Baptist Cemetery, Bryant, AL.

The family will receive friends Friday 4:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM EDT; Saturday 11:00 AM ~ 2:00 PM EDT.
