Mr. Glenn Smith

Glenn Dewayne Smith, 88, of Higdon, AL passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Gary Bone officiating. He will be laid to rest at Payne Gap Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM and Monday from 11:00 AM until the service hour.
Glenn was born May 30, 1934 to the late Alva Oran “A.O.” and Ida Mae Smith in Rodchester, TX. He was a decorated Korean War veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy. Glenn spent the last twenty years of his working career traveling the United States as a pipeline inspector. In retirement, he settled in Higdon, AL to be near family and his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Evelyn Smith; and siblings, Dorothy McBryar, Alva Doris Dyer, Don Smith, Dan Smith and Donnie Sue Primavera.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Shan (Lesa) Smith; daughter, Jeannie Ponce; sister, Bobbie Delores Gass; grandchildren, Stevie Ellis, R.J. (Jodi) Smith, Mary Jacklyn (Adam) Smith; Shanna Marie (Sergio) Reyes, Jenica Montgomery, and Joanna (Jared) Whitley-Schlageter; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
