Mrs. Glenda Sue Smith

Glenda Sue Smith, 74, of Bryant, AL passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021. She was born May 22, 1947 in Trenton, GA to the late Christine Cloud Lowrey and Carlie Lowrey, Jr. Glenda retired from TVA and was a Mary Kay consultant. Glenda enjoyed cooking, gardening, the outdoors, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Glendale Church of Christ, Bryant, AL. and a board member of the Harris Chapel Cemetery.

In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Smith; stepfathers Wendell Kennamer and Rayburn Henderson; sister Barbara Scott; brother John Lowrey; stepsons Dennis Smith and Gary Smith; grandparents James and Louella Cloud and Carlie and Irene Lowrey.

Left to cherish her memory are her step-daughters Donna Simmons (Tim) and Connie (Doug) Smith; daughters-in-law Jessie Smith and Barbara Smith; son David (Kathy) Smith; step-son Eddy Smith; grandchild Lane Smith; 8 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM ET on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Minister Daryel Haynes and Minister Jim Hogan officiating. She will be laid to rest at Harris Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 31, 2021 from 5:00 – 9:00 PM ET; Saturday 12:00 ~ 2:00 PM ET at Moore Funeral Home in Bryant, AL.

Pallbearers will be Tracey Smith, Michael Hogwood, Eric Smith, Aaron Scott, Mark Spurgin and Dakotah Smith. Lane Smith, Chris Shoemake and Tommy Williams will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family wishes to thank the special ladies from Encompass Health Hospice of Scottsboro for their loving care.

The family also requests that those attending please wear masks.
