BRYANT, AL: Freeman Richard Townson, age 81 passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013. He attended Bryant Free Holiness Church. He worked several years at Bungee Foods as a maintenance Mechanic/Welder. Freeman enjoyed working with his hands and could fix almost anything that came his way.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Jewel Hutcheson Townson; parents, Guy and Virgie Townson; brothers, Kenneth and Royce Ray Townson and sister, Reba Manson.
Survivors include daughters, Debra Kay Brooks, Susan Diane Cooper; son and daughter-in-law, Darryl Ray and Teresa Townson; special friends, Kenneth Brooks and Chris Bowman; sisters, Elva Townson, Mavis (Wes) Kennemore, Judy (Tim) Knight, Lottie Douglas and Betty Cloud; brothers, Jimmy Townson and Jerry (Vicki) Townson; five grandchildren, Stefanie (Steven) Reidinger, Corey Brooks, Brianna Cooper, Ariel Townson and Paige Townson; one great grandchild, Parker Reidinger; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM EDT Sunday, July 14, 2013 in the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother David Higdon and Reverend Gary Bone officiating. Burial will be held in Bryant Free Holiness Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday 11:00 AM EDT ~ 9:00 PM EDT Sunday 10:00 AM ~ 2:00 PM EDT
