Florabelle Wear

Florabelle Wear, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, music teacher, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on May 13th, 2023, at the age of 73. Florabelle was born on July 8th, 1949, on Suck Creek Mountain to Lucille and the late Alvin Graham Sr.  She was a resident of Bryant, AL.

Florabelle graduated from Southern Missionary College where she proceeded to work as a music teacher at Floral Crest School for many years. It was there that she impacted the lives of countless students who adored her. Her love for music extended beyond the classroom, as she enjoyed taking time out to sing and play instruments within her community.

Florabelle's family meant everything to her. She loved spending time with them and dedicating herself to their well-being. She was married to John Wear and together they raised five sons named Wayne (Karen) Wear, Dr. Leland (Amy) Wear, Matthew Wear, Mark (Larrisa Cooper) Wear, and Samuel (Beth Martin) Wear and one daughter named Florabelle Amanda Wear. Florabelle was also survived by brothers Charran (Jill) Graham, Dr. Leon (Alice) Graham and Dr. Ronal (Marie) Graham; grandchildren Larkin Wear, Havanna Gann-Tyree, Phoenix Wear, Keegan Wear, Brenden Wear, Cody Wear, Brianna Wear, Grant Martin, Bailey Wear, Mariska Cooper-Wear, and Milayna Cooper-Wear.

Florabelle's hobbies included nurturing her dog, Max, and spending time with her family and grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.

Funeral services will be held in the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home on Friday, May 19th at 1:00 PM ET with Pastor Jason Carlson officiating.  She will be laid to rest at Floral Crest Cemetery.

A visitation in memory of Florabelle will take place at Moore Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 17th from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM ET and Friday from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM ET. 

Florabelle's family and friends mourn her loss deeply, but they are comforted that she lived a full life dedicated to teaching, inspiring, and loving those around her. She will be missed by many, but her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her best.
