Elsie Louise Everett

Elsie Louise Everett, a lifelong resident of Lookout Mountain, GA, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at the age of 86.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Elsie will be held on Sunday, September 24 at 2:00 PM in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Pastor Reece Fauscett and Lay Leader Ruth Stanley will officiate the service.  Burial will follow at Hawkins Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 2:00–6:00 PM ET and on Sunday from 12:00 PM ET until the start of the service.

Elsie was born on April 25, 1937 to the late Grady Henry and Eugenia Lydia Gray McKaig. She lived a fulfilled life dedicated to her teaching career in the Dade County Board of Education until her retirement. Elsie was an avid reader and an excellent cook. Her green thumb allowed her to nurture and care for her plants and flowers with great devotion. Elsie also found solace and community through her membership in New Salem Methodist Church.

Elsie is survived by her children, Susan (David) DiMartino, Jamey Everett, Ronna Everett, and Christy Hicks; her sister, Gewene Ross; her grandson, Evan (Rachel) DiMartino; her great-granddaughter, Nora DiMartino; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Ronald Everett.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the special friends, residents, and staff at The Canopy at Boynton Ridge for their compassionate care, support, and expression of love.
