Diane Spurgin

Jaley Diane Spurgin, 67, of Higdon, AL, passed away on August 14, 2023 at her home.

A funeral service to honor Diane's life will be held on Thursday, August 17th, 2023 at 12:00 PM ET at the Mountain View Church of God in Bryant, AL. Brother Brad Bridges will officiate the service.  Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM ET and on Wednesday from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM ET.  

Born on June 11, 1956, in Chattanooga, Diane was the beloved daughter of the late Lonnie and Betty Keel Townson. Diane's warm-hearted nature earned her love and admiration from everyone she encountered. She embraced her role as a grandmother figure to countless children and treated them all with boundless affection. Diane's cooking skills were renowned, particularly for her peanut butter fudge. She was also a devoted member of the Mountain View Church of God for many years.

Diane is survived by her husband of 49 years, Marvin Spurgin; sons, Jamie (Misty) Spurgin and Joshua (Kelli) Spurgin; adopted daughters, Candy Robinson and Samantha Withey; grandchildren, Evan, Luke, Chandler, Sara, Emberly, Grayson, Mikala, McKenzie, and Matthew; great-grandchild, Weston; sister, Brenda (Jim) Graves; brothers, Jerry (Sylvia) Townson and Darrell (Brenda) Townson; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tony Townson.
