Delma Lee Black, 83, of Lookout Mountain, GA passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2022 with her family by her side. Delma Lee was born March 2, 1938 to the late Arvle and Jenny York. She was a member of Trinity Holiness Church.
Delma Lee was known for the kindness and love she showed to everyone. Her love for God and family were her priorities. Fishing was one of her favorite pastimes. She and her family spent many weekends camping, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. She was known to many around the Lookout Mountain area, as she was the postal carrier on the Lookout Mountain, Georgia mail route for many years. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John “J.L” Black; granddaughter, Deandra Shaver; son in-law, Timothy Ray Parker; and brothers, Raymond, Lloyd, Arvle, Harold and Darvin York.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Aubrey (Jo) Black, Annette Anderson and Janice Kay Parker; siblings, Patricia Bailey, Freda (Larry) Wooten, Charles (Brenda) York and Bill (Buelah) York; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Eartie Veal, Brother Mark Finlayson and Brother Ronnie Case officiating. She will be laid to rest at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
