Deborah Knight

Deborah Regina Knight, 70, beloved mother, sister and grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 5th 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 3rd, 1952 to her parents Carmen Kenneth and Nancy Jewell Shavers, who preceded her in death. She was married to Nathan Knight until his passing. 

Deborah had a successful career and retired from Shaw Industries (Plant 44) where she worked as a floor lead. She was known for being independent and a straight talker. Deborah possessed a tenacious spirit that served her well throughout both her personal and professional life.

In addition to her career achievements, Deborah was also a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Kristy Nan and son Michael Knight; brothers Gerry (Audrey) Shavers and Terry (Christine) Shavers; grandchildren Natalea Knight, Nikole Nan, Aaron Parrish, Amber Parrish and Tabitha Parrish; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Deborah will be remembered for her love of audiobooks, crafts, and always putting her family first. When she entered a room, you always knew where she stood. She was like Sour Patch Candy, sometimes sour, sometimes sweet but always loving. Although she is no longer with us physically, the memories we have of Deborah will continue to bring warmth to our hearts during this difficult time, as well as years to come.

A celebration of Deborah's life will be scheduled at a later date.
