Danny Hunt Sr.

Danny Lee Hunt Sr., age 72, of Trenton, GA, peacefully passed away at home on June 26, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.

A funeral service honoring the life of Danny will take place on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Brother Eddie Cantrell will lead the service, and interment will follow at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are to pay their respects at the home on Friday from noon until the service commences.

Born on June 23, 1952 in Sweetwater, TN to the late V.R. and Lucille Wheat Hunt, Danny later married Elaine Hunt in 1974. For fifty years, they called Chicago, IL their home where he dedicated his career to Acme Steel. Following retirement, Danny and Elaine relocated to Trenton to be closer to their loved ones. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing; however, his greatest love was always his family whom he cherished dearly.

Danny is survived by his devoted wife, Elaine Wooden Hunt; his son, Danny (Stephanie) Lee Hunt Jr.; three cherished grandchildren; nephew, Stephen (Sherry) Anderson; and great-nephew and great-niece, Colin and Katie Anderson.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his siblings Elizabeth Ann Anderson, Billy Ray Hunt, and Carl Dennis Hunt.

Danny will be remembered for his kindness, love for his family, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. May he rest in peace knowing he was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
